Ukraine Update: One Year Later, Celebrating Israel's 75th, New Life & Legacy Initiative, Venture Israel Experiences Educational Seminar, Federation Housing Honored As Best Real Estate Deals
On February 24, 2022, the world watched in horror while Russian troops invaded Ukraine. Overnight, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia launched the Emergency Response Campaign. Thanks to our Greater Philadelphia community’s generosity, we immediately provided critical aid to those in need.
The Jewish Federation is hosting four celebrations to ring in Israel's BIG 75. From Mitzvah opportunities to Shabbat dinners, an all-out food festival with Michael Solomonov to a unique travel experience to visit Israel, join us in honoring the 75th anniversary of the Jewish State’s founding as well as the beauty and diversity of the people who live there.
The Jewish Federation is excited to share the launch of the LIFE & LEGACY® initiative in partnership with the Grinspoon Foundation. The initiative will help local organizations in the Greater Philadelphia community build endowments through a structured four-year series of workshops, coaching and consulting. Local organizations are invited to learn more by attending the "Why Legacy, Why Now" informational meeting being held virtually on March 29, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Venture Israel Fellowship program’s first cohort recently returned from a week-long educational seminar in Israel, where they met with top leaders in religious, social and educational fields. The seminar is part of an intensive 13-month program for local leaders to deepen their knowledge of Israeli culture, society and politics. Fellows will learn how to design and deliver innovative Israeli educational experiences within their own communities. The new program is a partnership between Jewish Learning Venture and the Jewish Federation.
Federation Housing’s latest affordable senior housing development, Annabel Gardens in Willow Grove, was recently honored as one of the Philadelphia Business Journal's "2022 Best Real Estate Deals.” Annabel Gardens adds 54 units to Federation Housing's portfolio and serves a tremendous need in the community for high-quality, affordable housing for seniors that provides supportive services, such as van transportation, a meal program, and social, educational and recreational programming. Federation Housing is supported by Jewish Federation Real Estate (JFRE) and by the Lindy Family.

The Jewish Federation commemorates Women's History Month. In celebration, the Jewish Federation’s JCRC is hosting a virtual conversation with activist and writer Amy Albertson, a Chinese-American Jew, and fashion designer Elisheva Rishon, a Black Orthodox Jew, about their experiences as Women of Color in the Jewish community and social media influencers.
