To date, our community has raised more than $1.25 million. Of these dollars received, the Emergency Response Committee approved the following distributions: 

• $755,000 as part of The Jewish Federations of North America national campaign that provided funds to 35 NGOs operating on the ground in Ukraine and neighboring countries
  
• $342,000 emergency funding for:
  
  • Ongoing refugee trauma services
  • Emergency and medical services in Ukraine
  • The Emergency Volunteer Project (EVP) to send 12 Greater Philadelphia firefighters to Ukraine to assist rescue and recovery teams
  • Financial resources for refugees in our Partnership2Gether region in Israel
  • IT Works, a pilot project based in Israel that offers employment training services for immigrants from Ukraine and Russia
• $13,975 to HIAS PA for interpretation and legal services in anticipation of refugees coming to the Greater Philadelphia area

This distribution utilizes emergency fund dollars received to date and future grants will be made upon receipt of pledge balances.

Danielle Weiss (Jewish Community Relations Council Chair), Jason Holtzman (JCRC Director) and Robin Schatz (Government Affairs Director), joined with more than 300 activists from North America at the U.S. Capitol for the Jewish Federations' Washington Conference, hosted by National Women’s Philanthropy, Young Leadership Cabinet, and the Advocacy Corps. The group lobbied Congress to increase funding for Federations’ policy priorities in the areas of communal security, combating antisemitism and hate crimes, and support to Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees.

"Attending the Jewish Federations' Washington Conference together shows the strong commitment that JCRC and the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia have to being united as a whole across the nation in order to achieve a safer world for the Jewish community," said Robin Schatz, JCRC Government Affairs Director. "As long as antisemitism exists, we will combat it through unity and education."

Through partnerships locally and across North America, the Jewish Federation provides access to exceptional programs for the community’s next generation to begin their leadership journey, paving the way for long-term engagement within our community. • Teen Leadership Opportunities Diller Teen Fellows is a prestigious leadership program for 10th and 11th graders to experience a year of traveling and learning. Run by Kaiserman JCC, and supported by the Jewish Federation, the program strengthens Jewish identities, involves social action initiatives and helps build long-lasting friendships. Learn how to apply or nominate a candidate for the next cohort. Applications close on June 10. Find out about additional teen programming in our community.
• Young Adult Leadership Opportunities The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) Changemakers Fellowship is an online leadership development experience designed for participants to expand their career options, their network, and most importantly, their desire and ability to affect positive change in their community and the world at large. Jewish young adults between the ages of 20 and 24 are encouraged to apply for the upcoming summer sessions, with track options for participants in undergrad and professional/grad school.

The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of the Jewish Federation is partnering with the Kaserman JCC to bring an exhibit to our community. "Hadar Goldin - The Final Peace" consists of early works from military hero Hadar Goldin, an IDF soldier killed by Hamas during Operation Protective Edge. The show has traveled the world and has been presented to the United Nations. Coming soon to Greater Philadelphia, the exhibit is open for just over two weeks (June 1 to June 17), at Kaiserman JCC in Wynnewood. Learn more about the exhibit here.
