The Jewish Federation is thrilled to share its grant awards for fiscal year 2026 (Sept. 1, 2025–Aug. 31, 2026).
With so many organizations supported, the full picture can feel overwhelming. This FedFive breaks it down — highlighting our grantmaking process and the awards made through our four main funds.
Our Grants Process
“Our grants are one of the most powerful ways we bring the Federation’s mission to life. Each award reflects the trust of our donors, the diligence of our lay leaders and professionals, and the impact we are committed to making for our community locally, in Israel and around the world.”
–Dr. Kelly Romirowsky, Chief Strategy & Impact Officer
Each year, the Jewish Federation awards millions of dollars in grants to advance our mission of caring for those in need, strengthening connections to Jewish life, and supporting Jews in Israel and around the world. At the start of every fiscal year, grant requests undergo an in-depth review led by our committees of lay leaders and professional staff in Philadelphia and Israel. Final awards are approved by executive boards to ensure resources are directed where they will make the most impact.
Together, this process drives funding through four primary vehicles: the Jewish Community Fund, Jewish Federation Real Estate Fund, Women of Vision Endowment Fund, and Bernard and Etta Weinberg Family Fund. Each plays a unique role in sustaining Jewish life locally, in Israel and globally.
Applications for upcoming grant cycles will open soon. To learn more about the grants process and to apply for a grant, click here.
“The Jewish Community Fund is at the heart of our mission — meeting urgent needs today while strengthening Jewish life for generations to come.”
– Julie Savitch, Community Impact Chair
The Jewish Community Fund (JCF) is the core of the Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign and the main source of unrestricted dollars that address the greatest needs across our community. Each year, JCF supports organizations and initiatives that:
Care for those in need locally,
Support Israel and global Jewry, and
Secure a vibrant Jewish future.
By ensuring that the ongoing needs of our community are supported through the Annual Campaign, the Jewish Federation is positioned to focus on urgent needs as they arise. For Fiscal Year 2026, the Jewish Federation awarded about $7.2 million to 73 organizations locally and overseas through the JCF.
“Women of Vision’s grantmaking reflects the power of collective philanthropy — funding organizations that drive lasting change for Jewish women and girls.”
– Ann C. Lebowitz and Miriam Silberstein, 2024-2025 Grants Co-Chairs
Since its founding in 1994, Women of Vision (WOV) has empowered members to pool their resources and collectively decide which programs to support. Through its endowment fund, WOV invests in organizations in Greater Philadelphia and Israel that are working to create systemic change for self-identifying Jewish women and girls.
Each year, members vote on proposals that advance social change and justice. Over its history, WOV has awarded more than $2.1 million in grants. For Fiscal Year 2026, Women of Vision members awarded nearly $200,000 to six programs in Greater Philadelphia and in Israel.

Jewish Federation Real Estate Fund
“With antisemitism on the rise, I am proud of our grants this year, which safeguard our institutions so they remain welcoming, secure spaces.”
– Malina Robbins, JFRE Executive Committee and Allocations Subcommittee Chair
The Jewish Federation Real Estate (JFRE) Fund is powered by the annual membership fees of the JFRE affinity group, which brings together leaders across the real estate industry to invest in the community’s future. Each year, the fund supports capital and security projects that ensure Jewish spaces are welcoming, functional and safe.
For Fiscal Year 2026, JFRE awarded more than $645,000 to 18 projects in Greater Philadelphia and Israel. This year’s funding prioritized security improvements in response to the global and local rise in antisemitism, helping to protect institutions that serve as anchors of Jewish life.
“These grants ensure older adults, Jewish education and Israeli charities receive the support Etta Weinberg envisioned.”
– Ron Perilstein, Committee Chair
The Bernard and Etta Weinberg Family Fund is one of the Jewish Federation’s largest restricted endowments, established by Etta Weinberg through her estate plan. With more than $23 million in assets, the fund directs resources to the areas Etta cared about most: geriatric counseling and care management, older adult services, Jewish education, and, when possible, Israeli charities.
Grants are awarded through a careful review process by lay leaders and professionals who ensure the funding addresses the community’s most pressing needs while honoring Etta’s vision. For Fiscal Year 2026, the fund distributed more than $1.1 million to 16 programs in Greater Philadelphia and Israel.
