The Jewish Community Foundation is moving forward with new leadership, fresh ideas and opportunities for impact. Here are five highlights shaping our shared future:
Foundation Spotlight: Welcoming Max Moline
“The Foundation is uniquely positioned to inspire generosity that will last for generations.”
–Max Moline, Jewish Community Foundation Director
The Jewish Federation’s Jewish Community Foundation helps donors turn their philanthropic goals into reality, managing more than $425 million in assets to support Jewish life locally and globally. From the Weinberg Family Fund’s $23 million dedicated to older adults, counseling and education, to the $43.4 million raised through Life & Legacy since 2023, the Foundation ensures a strong future for our community.
We’re excited to welcome Max Moline as director, who joins this dedicated team with a deep commitment to strengthening Jewish philanthropy. Moline brings vision and energy to lead the Foundation forward.
New Leadership: Karen Kramer and Susanna Lachs Adler Step Forward
“Our community has always been built on shared responsibility. I’m proud to help carry that forward.”
– Susanna Lachs Adler, Jewish Community Foundation Co-Chair
We’re proud to welcome Karen Kramer and Susanna Lachs Adler as the Foundation’s new co-chairs. Their leadership will help strengthen philanthropy across our community.
“Through Shtetl 2.0, I’ve built meaningful friendships — people I now see for walks, dinners, movies and theater — a supportive network that is there for me during challenging times and has connected me with Jewish life, even though I’m not affiliated with a synagogue.”
– Sherri Cohen, Shtetl 2.0 Vice Chair
Shtetl 2.0 reimagines Jewish life for the modern era, blending tradition with new approaches to community, care and connection. The initiative looks at how we can support people across generations — from older adults aging in place, to young families seeking connection, to innovative ways of sustaining Jewish identity.
Through the Jewish Community Foundation’s endowments, projects like Shtetl 2.0 can be built for the long term, ensuring that creative solutions today become lasting resources for tomorrow.

Securing Tomorrow:
LIFE & LEGACY’s Impact
“Legacy giving is how we honor the past, secure the present and invest in the Jewish future.”
– Karen Kramer, Jewish Community Foundation Co-Chair
Through LIFE & LEGACY and in partnership with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, our community has raised more than $43.4 million since November 2023, helping 13 local Jewish institutions create, grow and sustain endowments. These endowments provide long-term financial stability, ensuring that synagogues, schools, social service agencies and cultural institutions can continue to serve future generations.
“Community is the way we show up for each other — consistently and wholeheartedly — so that no one has to do it alone … Community isn’t just what we have in common — it’s what we choose to do in common.”
– Amy S. Ufberg, Esq., 2025 Edward N. Polisher Award Recipient at the Bronstein Seminar
This year marked the 30th anniversary of the Solomon and Sylvia Bronstein Seminar, a cornerstone program of the Jewish Community Foundation.
The event brought together 150 professionals in the estate planning industry, who networked and learned from Keynote Speaker Turney P. Berry, Esq. about “Planning for the Middle Rich Who Need Our Help.”
The Bronstein Seminar is presented by our Professional Advisor Network (PAN), which comprises industry experts in estate planning, insurance, accounting, financial advising, wealth management and allied professions.

Together, we are building a strong Jewish future — L’dor V’dor.
The Jewish Federation’s Jewish Community Foundation embodies the principle of passing traditions, values and resiliency from one generation to the next. Through initiatives like LIFE & LEGACY, the Professional Advisor Network, and innovative projects, such as Shtetl 2.0, we are creating pathways for donors to safeguard Jewish life locally and globally.
Every gift, large or small, carries forward the vision of a thriving, connected Jewish community. When we give together, we not only honor our past — we secure our future.
